Terms
The terms ‘I’ and ‘my’ refer to Luke Godfrey trading as LG Web Design.
The terms ‘you’ and ‘your’ refer to the client named on the quote/invoice.
Website/eCommerce Design
To get started I require a 50% deposit which is non-refundable.
If you already have a paid Squarespace subscription, I require an Administrator level contributor invitation.
In order to quality for custom CSS design alterations and premium scripts, you must be on a Business plan or higher. If your quote includes CSS scripts and you choose not to subscribe to a suitable plan, any payments made for CSS scripts are non-refundable.
All content must be sent via email or online transfer, and must be clearly labelled.
I do not collect/extract content from third party websites or documents unless previously agreed.
I do not offer a copywriting service for website content, but may assist with minor changes at my discretion.
The time frame in which your website will be completed may change depending on when your website content is received. In some cases, I will wait until all content is received before starting your project.
All content must be received within 6 months of receipt of your deposit payment, unless previous agreed. Failure to provide content will result in cancellation of your project.
Royalty free photos (stock images) are not included with any of my design packages. They are sold separately.
I do not condone the use of unlicensed, copyrighted or plagiarised material, and accept no liability for use of such material on your website.
I accept no liability for use of any unlicensed fonts added to your website.
I will add a discreet 'Designed by LG Web Design' statement with a link to my website in the footer of your website, alongside your copyright statement.
During the design process, if the number of pages, products, blog posts or galleries you require on your website increases, any additional costs will be added to your final payment.
If you choose to terminate your project during the design process, all services provided up to that point will be deleted and/or set to expire with immediate effect.
If you are unhappy with the website I present, you may request as many changes to design and/or layout without charge, within reason.
If you are unhappy with the website I present, you may also request a complete redesign without charge, within reason.
Once you have approved the final design and you are ready for your new website to go live:
You will be required to pay the remainder of the quote, plus any additional charges.
No further changes to design/layout can be made from this point without incurring additional costs.
Once final payment has been received I will connect your primary domain (if requested), remove the site-wide password, and if you’re not already the site owner I will send you an administrator contributor invitation and transfer site ownership to you.
Please note, it can take 24-48 hours to connect your domain and process the SSL certificate, and if you require my assistance connecting the domain, I will require your account login details. See my privacy policy for more information.
Failure to pay the final amount within 4 weeks of presenting the final design without prior agreement, may result in termination of your project, removal of your contributor access and deletion of the website; or commencement of legal proceedings if I am not the site owner.
All packages include a free Skype/Zoom training session, which can be used at any time. Additional training sessions are charged at an hourly rate.
I accept no liability for:
Spelling and/or grammar errors on your website once approved and made live to the public.
Website downtime as a result on Squarespace issues. You can monitor outages at https://status.squarespace.com/.
Bugs/faults/unknown behaviours with your Squarespace site.
Bugs/faults/unknown behaviours with purchased CSS Scripts added to your site.
Bugs/faults/unknown behaviours with free CSS Scripts added to your site.
Bugs/faults/unknown behaviours with any CSS Scripts or Code Injection added to your site.
Bugs/faults/unknown behaviours with your site styles settings if you make changes to site styles and/or page/section settings.
It is not possible to save site style settings in version 7.1, so if you make unintended changes or reset your site styles, there will be additional costs to rectify these changes, and I cannot guarantee they will match the original design.
Search Engine Optimisation
To get started I require full payment in advance which is non-refundable.
I require administrator contributor access to provider this service.
If purchased with any website/ecommerce design package, your Search Engine Optimisation package will be setup once your quote final payment has been received and your new website is live to the public.
Your guaranteed Google listing is achieved by indexing your website with Google and adding a Google verification code in the Header of your Squarespace website and submitting a sitemap. I cannot guarantee or predict when or where you will be ranked for certain keywords and/or phrases.
Your SEO package includes tracking your website’s performance via Google Analytics. You will receive monthly summary statistic reports in PDF format via email. For access to the full reports please request a user invitation.
I accept no liability if you stop received the summary reports, or for any lost data.
I accept no liability for coverage or mobile usability issues if I am unable to validate fixes.
Some fixes may include redesigning certain elements and these changes may be charged.
Link building and/or link clicking services are not included with this package.
Your SEO package is charged on an annual basis. Your first renewal date will be approximately 48 weeks from the date your quote final payment was paid. See Payments & Renewals for more information.
If you remove my contributor access, your website expires, a duplicate Search Console property is created, or you fail to pay the renewal invoice on time without prior agreement, your package will be suspended with immediate effect until the aforementioned has been resolved, or your package expires. See Payments & Renewals for more info.
Suspension will result in:
Your Google My Business listing will not be maintained (if applicable).
Coverage and mobile usability issues will not be addressed.
Any new content added to your site will not be edited to be made SEO friendly.
New pages will not get an SEO page description.
Sitemaps will not be updated.
I will not reindex your website after big updates.
You will not receive any Google Analytics reports (if applicable), although data may still be recorded.
If your website has expired, no data will be recorded for the duration of your website down-time.
I will no longer be able to offer advice on how to improve your SEO.
Expiration will result in:
Permanent deletion of your Google My Business listing (if applicable), unless it has been renewed separately or ownership has been transferred for a one-off fee.
Your site no longer being verified by Google.
Coverage and mobile usability issues will no longer monitored and therefore not be fixed.
Deletion of all Search Console properties resulting in permanent deletion of all performance data stored within.
Permanent deletion of all Google Analytics data.
If you have a new website designed without prior notice, your package will be cancelled with immediate effect. This will result in:
Permanent deletion of your Google My Business listing (if applicable).
Deletion of all Search Console properties resulting in permanent deletion of all performance data stored within.
Permanent deletion of all Google Analytics data.
Graphic Design
To get started I require full payment in advance which is non-refundable.
If purchased with any website/ecommerce design package, artwork for print will be designed once your quote final payment has been received.
My graphic design services are charge on an hourly basis, and all quotes are estimated. If your project takes longer than expected additional costs may be incurred.
Once the artwork has been designed I will present you with a draft. Once approved it cannot be changed without incurring additional costs.
All drafts are sent low resolution and may contain watermarks.
If you are unhappy with the artwork I present, you may request changes to text, images, font(s) and/or colour scheme without charge, within reason.
If you are unhappy with the artwork I present, you may request a redesign one time, without incurring additional charges.
All completed artwork is supplied to you in PDF format at 300dpi resolution and in CMYK colour, ready for print. If you require artwork in a difference format, resolution or colour, please let me know at the start of your project for an accurate quote.
Print Services
To get started I require full payment in advance which is non-refundable.
If purchased with any website/ecommerce design package, your artwork will be sent to print once your quote final payment has been received.
If suppling the artwork, all print artwork must contain a 3mm bleed on all sides, be in PDF format, CMYK colour at no less than 300dpi resolution. For artwork sizes please get in touch.
Once the artwork has been sent to print no further changes can be made, and I accept no liability for typos, spelling or grammar errors on the final product you receive.
All my print orders are outsourced to an online print company and I accept no liability for the following:
Order dispatch delays.
Delivery delays or failed deliveries.
Print errors when the artwork was sent to the printers in the correct format.
Social Media Setup
To get started I require full payment in advance which is non-refundable.
If purchased with any website/ecommerce design package, your social media page will be setup once your quote final payment has been received.
To setup a business Facebook page you must first have a personal Facebook account. If you do not have one I will create a blank one for you in your name, and send you the login details once completed. I require the following information to create your personal account;
Full name.
Date of birth.
Mobile number (verification required).
If you already have a personal Facebook account, you can opt to share your login details with me and I will create your business page using those login details. See my privacy policy for details of how your data will be used. Alternatively, once the page has been created I can invite you to be an Administration using your email address. Please note this option may require a change to your Facebook privacy settings. Once you have accepted the invite I will remove my access to the page.
To create a unique page address to your new business Facebook page I must first create a unique username. To get started Facebook will need to verify your mobile number. This is done by sending you a verification code which you must send to me within 5 minutes to complete the verification process.
Choosing the correct Facebook username is important as it can only be changed once.
Once a social media account has been created, it is the responsibility of the client to manage the page’s content, posts, notifications and settings.
I accept no liability for content added to or posted on social media account(s) I have created for you.
IT Support
I charge an hourly rate for IT Support, plus any travel expenses if a call-out is required. Full payment is due in advance and is non-refundable.
If you require more than one hour I may require payment before commencing each hour at my discretion.
I do not offer remote control access of your devices, so unless you opt for a call-out service I will talk you through the resolution of your issue to the best of my ability. This can be done via a Zoom call with screen sharing enabled, or over the phone with you sending me screenshots of your progress.
While I wouldn’t offer IT Support on something I haven’t done before, I cannot guarantee to resolve your issue, and offer no refunds if I am unable to do so.
I accept no liability for damage or loss of data on your devices as a result of my assistance. I am not an IT expect.
Domains & Email Management
All domains and email hosting are registered to Luke Godfrey or LG Web Design in one year subscriptions.
If you have already registered your domains and would like me to manage your emails for you, I require the domain(s) be transferred to me to a registrar of my choosing. If you feel comfortable sharing your login details with me I will do the transfer(s) for you free of charge. Alternatively I offer a free Zoom call to talk you through the transfer process.
Please note there is a £10 plus VAT domain transfer fee for .UK domains, per domain. This is payable directly to Nominet who are the official registry for .UK domains.
It can take 24-72 hours to transfer .UK domains, and 7-10 days to transfer .COM domains.
I accept no liability for any issues that arise during the transfer process.
You may have multiple domains pointed to your website, but you must select one domain as your primary domain. This domain will also be used to create your email account(s), if applicable.
Your first renewal date for your domain(s) and/or email account(s) will be approximately 45 weeks from the date your deposit/invoice was paid, even if your website is not live. See Payments & Renewals for more information. Failure to renew will result in your domain(s) and/or email account(s) being set to expire.
Unless otherwise stated, IMAP email accounts include 3GB email storage per account, and you can have a maximum of 5 email accounts. Additional storage and/or unlimited email accounts are available at any time on request at a higher price, and will include a small admin fee.
The fee to create additional email accounts after the initial setup is £25 per account.
The fee to create additional email forwards after the initial setup is £15 per email address.
If you choose to move your business away from me, all domains registered by me or transferred to me are owned by you, and can be transferred at any time following email notification. Alternatively, domains will be set to expire.
There is a small transfer fee per domain.
£25 for .UK domains, plus a fee of £10 plus VAT per domain payable directly to Nominet who are the official registry for .UK domains.
£50 for .COM domains, plus any transfer fees payable to your current registrar, if applicable.
It can take 24-72 hours to transfer .UK domains, and 7-10 days to transfer .COM domains.
I accept no liability for any issues that arise during the transfer process.
Please note, if a domain is transferred away or set to expire, all associated email accounts and/or email forwards will be permanently deleted. I do not offer email migration services, however I will work with someone you hire to help them do this. The fee for this service is £25 per hour due in advance.
Payments & Renewals
I only accept BACS, CASH or CHEQUE payments. All payments are non-refundable.
I am not VAT registered so my prices do not include VAT.
All invoices are sent via email using Wave, and you will receive an online receipt once payment has been received.
All renewal invoices are sent 30 days in advance and are due by 11.59pm (GMT) on the invoice due date. Reminders are sent at 7 days, 3 days and on the due date, unless otherwise instructed. Failure to pay a renewal invoice on or before the invoice due date without prior agreement may result one of the following late renewal charges at my discretion:
£10 for domain only renewal invoices.
£25 for all other renewal invoices.
Failure to pay a renewal invoice and/or late renewal charge within 7 days of the due date without prior agreement may result in additional late renewal charges at my discretion and/or suspension of those service(s) until payment has been received or the service(s) expires.
Renewal prices are subject to change at any time and will you will be notified 30 days prior to the invoice due date.
